Five Women's Lacrosse Athletes Earn All-WHAC Honors

The Siena Heights women's lacrosse team had five athletes honored by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference as All-Conference award winners, as released by the conference on Tuesday.

Four Saints were named Second Team All-Conference: seniors Aliisa Mason and Tabitha Ferguson, junior Kayla Parks and freshman Marissa Cirino. Two-time honorees include Parks and Mason while Ferguson is a three-time All-Conference honoree.

Parks led the Saints with 61 goals and 11 assists, as a midfielder. She also led SHU with 75 groundballs and 18 caused turnovers along with grabbing 67 draw controls. Midfielder Cirino finished the season with 46 and 22 assists for the Saints, grabbing 58 groundballs and forcing 18 turnovers.

Leading the SHU attack with 28 assists was Mason, also netting 45 goals to the Saints with 73 points. In goal, Ferguson ended the season with a .414 save percentage while making 150 saves for Siena Heights.

Earning All-Academic honors for the Saints was Ferguson, Mason and Parks. Ferguson and Mason received this award last season, majoring in fine arts and psychology, respectively. Parks is a communications major. In order to be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Sophomore defender Megan Byers was named to the WHAC Champions of Character team for the second year running.
