Parks Scores Seven in Women's Lax Victory

SYLVANIA, Ohio -- Siena Heights women's lacrosse sophomore Kayla Parks scored seven goals in a 14-12 victory over conference opponent Lourdes (Ohio) on Wednesday.

Parks notched the first goal for the Saints (5-4, 1-3) only two minutes into the game. The game went back-and-forth for the first half, Hayley Parker scored the tying goal with less than three minutes remaining in the first half. The score was all-square 8-8 going into halftime.

Again, Parks came out and scored the first three goals of the second half, putting Siena up 11-8 with a lead they held on to for the remainder of the game. Lourdes (4-6, 1-4) came within two with ten minutes remaining but Aliisa Mason quickly shut them down, putting in the game-winner with less than eight minutes on the clock.

For the Saints, Parks scored half the team's goals, finishing four in the first half and three in the second half. Alysa Grove and Aliisa Mason each added two goals while Sabrina Snow, Sam Pawlowski and Parker tacked on solo goals. Parker, Mason and snow each tallied one assist.

Lourdes leading scorers were Alyssa Long and Anna Zofchak who scored four and three goals, respectively.

Winning goaltender was SHU's Alyssa Hopkins, earning nine saves. Kiley Ketteman stopped 13 shots for the Gray Wolves.

On Friday, the Saints will travel to Robert Morris (Ill.) for a 7:30 p.m. CDT (8:30 p.m. EST) non-conference contest.
