Mason Helps Lift Women's Lax Over Missouri Baptist

BELLEVILLE, Ill. -- Aliisa Mason scored four goals to help lift the Siena Heights women's lacrosse team to a 10-6 victory over Missouri Baptist, on Thursday.

Mason started off the scoring for Siena Heights in the first minute, finishing a pass from Sabrina Snow. MBU answered with three goals within the next eight minutes, and one in the 21st minute.

The Saints (1-1) responded with five goals of their own in the first half, solo goals coming from Alysa Grove, Hayley Parker, Kayla Parks and Mason with two. SHU led 6-4 going into halftime.

Parker added the game-winning goal in the 36th minute, assisted by Mason.

Overall, Mason added four goals and Parker finished with three goals for Siena Heights. Snow, Parks and Grove each added one goals. Two assists came from Parker while Mason and Snow each earned an assist.

For Missouri Baptist (2-1), McKenna Fisher scored three goals, followed by Sarah Mello with two goals and Taylor Johnson with one. Kimmi Mathews and Ashley VanCamp each earned an assist.

The Saints outshot MBU, 22-15.

Tabitha Ferguson made six saves between the pipes to earn the win for the Saints. Alexis Womble allowed six gaols and made four saves prior to being relieved by Victoria Metzger who allowed four goals while making six saves.

Siena Heights will be back in action on Friday to play Saint Mary (Kan.) for a 1 p.m. CST start-time.
