Women’s Golf Fifth at WHAC Championship

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Siena Heights women's golf team finished fifth at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championship held at the Stonehedge Golf Club in Battle Creek, Michigan. The Saints finished the three-round tournament with a team score of 1024.

Northwestern Ohio took the top spot with a team score of 941. Indiana Tech fell second with a 975, while Aquinas was third with a 993. Madonna took fourth with 1007. The Saints edged out Cleary for fifth while the Cougars were sixth with 1029. Lawrence Tech (1034), Cornerstone (1050), and Lourdes (1053) filled the seven, eight, and nine spots. Michigan-Dearborn (1244) and Rochester (1373) rounded out the team standings.

Bethany Nowak led the Saints as she tied for sixth in the individual standings with a three-round total of 242 (82, 77, 83). Nowak's placing earned her a spot on the All-WHAC first team. WHAC Champions of Character member Skylar Whitman tied for 16th with a 250 (82, 87, 81). Megan Paczas tied for 29th with a 264 (86, 87, 91). Paczac also made the WHAC All-Academic team. Chelsea Kovoch was 37th with a 268 (92, 85, 91). Isabelle Sparks finished with a 295 (103, 96, 96) to round out the scoring for Siena Heights.

Emma Murphy and Lindsey Darby were also named to the WHAC All-Academic squad after the tournament concluded.

This is the final tournament on the Siena Heights women's golf schedule for the Spring season. The team will return to action in the Fall season of 2022.
