The Siena Heights women's golf team led all institutions with seven individuals on the 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes list, as announced by the governing body on Thursday.

The honorees included were senior Andrea Rumler and juniors Ashley Carney, Amber Dykstra, Alyssa Fausneaucht, Elisabeth Higgins, Jessa Rappleye and Andrea Richards. All SHU team members eligible for this award--juniors and seniors--received the award.

Rumler recently graduated with a major in philosophy and social science.

Carney and Fausneaucht both major in sport management while Richards and Higgins major in accounting.

Rappleye is studying in applied mathematics and Dykstra is in the nursing program.

All seven Saints were also recognized as 2016 Academic All-WHAC honorees. Rumler is a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-WHAC honoree.

In order to be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status. A total of 160 women were recognized.
