Cojei, Women's Golf Take Runner-Up At IWU Fall Invitational

MARION, Ind. -- The Siena Heights women's golf team placed second among 12 teams at the two-day Indiana Wesleyan Fall Invitational, which took place at Arbor Trace Golf Club on Friday and Saturday.

Lauren Cojei placed second individually, Andrea Rumler was third and Andrea Richards finished sixth for the Saints on the 5,820-yard, par-73 layout.

Cojei actually led through Friday's round while SHU was atop the leaderboard as a team. Cojei ended the tournament with a 152 (75-77).

Rumler fired a two-day 155 (76-79) and Richards had a 160 (77-83).

Also for the Saints, Jessa Rappleye tied for 13th with a 163 (84-79) and Alyssa Fausneaucht finished with a 168 (81-87) and tied for 18th.

Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) won the team championship with a 631 (326-305) and was led by medalist Amber Fisk's 150 (78-72).

Siena Heights' final team score was 642 (317-325). It was followed by Northwestern Ohio (661), Indiana Wesleyan (676), Taylor, Ind. (676), Cleary (695), Oakland City, Ind. (726), Indiana East (727), Spring Arbor (729), Grace, Ind. (763), Mount Vernon Nazarene, Ohio (775) and Huntington, Ind. (811).

The Saints will return to competition on Thursday and Friday during the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference jamboree, which Northwestern Ohio will host at Hawthorne Hills in Lima, Ohio.
