Richards Ties For Runner-Up at WHAC #5; Women's Golf Finishes Third in WHAC Season

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Andrea Richards tied for second individually as the Siena Heights women's golf team placed third at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference's fifth jamboree, which took place Saturday at Lenawee Country Club.

Richards shot a 79 on the par-71 course, helping the Saints finish third in the WHAC regular-season standings as well.

On Saturday, SHU had a 335 and finished behind Indiana Tech (326) and Madonna (333); the Warriors and Crusaders also finished 1-2 in the WHAC standings.

Andrea Rumler tied for sixth with an 84 while both Alyssa Fausneaucht and Sydney Gossett shot 86s to tie for 11st.

Lauren Cojei and Ashlyn Samples carded 87s for the Saints and tied for 17th.

Indiana Tech's Courtney Dye earned medalist honors with a 75.

Heading into the event, SHU was slotted in third place with little chance to move up or down in the standings. The Sanits finished with a score of 1,677, finishing behind team regular-season champ Indiana Tech (1,618) and runner-up Madonan (1,626).

Those schools which trailed Siena Heights in the standings included Lawrence Tech (1,704), Davenport (1,744), Aquinas (1,745), Northwestern Ohio (1,817), Lorudes (1,852), Cornerstone (2,143) and Concordia (inc.).

The Saints wrapped up fall competition at WHAC #5. They will return to action in the spring.
