Women’s Bowling Places Sixth at WHAC #3

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Siena Heights women's bowling team placed sixth in an eight team field at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference's third jamboree of the season at Thunderbowl #1 in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

The Saints struggled to find their lines out of the gate, compiling a first team game five-game total of 845, putting them in seventh-place to start the day. Despite rebounding with some nice sets later on, including a four-game baker set of 876, the Saints were locked into the sixth-place position, 151-pins shy of fifth-place Indiana Tech and 591-pins above seventh place Davenport. Lawrence Tech won the event with a 7,283 tournament total, 626-pins above the Saints.

Senior Allison Caswell was the top-finisher for SHU, compiling a four-game series of 802 (200.5 average) to place ninth in the 60-bowler field, which included games of 246 and 220. Also for the Saints, freshman Olivia Cabildo placed 21st overall with a 766 (191.5 average) four-game total and junior Tiffany Logan placed 25th with a 719 (179.75). Lawrence Tech's Jackie Evans placed first overall with an 899 (224.75).

The Saints will be off until the fourth and final WHAC Jamboree, set to take place in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Jan. 9. As it currently stands, the Saints find themselves in sixth-place in the conference standings, but are within striking distance of fourth heading into the final jamboree.
