Women's Bowlers Take Seventh at Each of First Two AHIBC Tournaments

CANTON, Mich. – The Siena Heights women's bowling team placed seventh at both of the first two American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference tournaments of the season at Super Bowl.

At AHIBC I, the Saints had a grand total of 6,739 -- 673 pins shy of tournament champion Wright State (Ohio) to finish seventh out of 20 teams.

Tanishia Townsend led the Saints with a five-game total of 957 (191.40 average), which was good enough to place 26th in the 151-bowler field. Laura Robinson was only a pin shy from Townsend, finishing 27th with a 956 (191.20 average).

Also for the Saints, Tiffany Logan placed 36th with a 923 (184.6) and Amanda Barry placed 44th with a 903 (180.6). Rachael Albright of Ursuline (Ohio) led the field individually with a 1,124 (224.8).

At AHIBC II, the Saints finished seventh once again, this time in a 19-team field with a 6,451 total pin-fall, 562-pins behind tournament winner Notre Dame (Ohio).

Barry was the top-individual for the Saints, rolling a four-game set of 782 (195.50) on her way to a 17th-place finish. Logan placed 24th with a 758 (189.50) and Hamilton finished 33rd with a 744 (186.0). Kayla Meadows of Bowling Green State (Ohio) won the event with an 871 (217.75).

The Saints will be back in action Nov. 14 when they host the second WHAC Jamboree of the season at Lenawee Recreation Center in Adrian.
