Women's Bowling Opens With Sixth-Place Finish at WHAC #1

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – The Siena Heights women's bowling team finished sixth in an eight-team field at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference's first jamboree of the season Saturday. The event was hosted by Lawrence Tech at Five-Star Lanes.

After varying team scores of 881, 773, 918, and 795 to start the team games, the Saints tossed four-game baker sets of 699, 723, 665, and 707 in route to their sixth-place finish, falling 85 pins shy of fifth-place Lawrence Tech.

Laura Robinson led the way for the Saints, compiling a four-game series of 707 (176.75 average), which included a 216 game., That was good enough to place 17th in the 67-bowler field. 

Tiffany Logan also contributed for the Saints, placing 21st with a four-game series of 694 (173.50 average).

The Siena Heights 'B' squad had some impressive play as well as Myriah Hamilton finished 12th with a four-game series of 737 (184.25) and Courtney Herron placed 19th with a 696 (174.0).

Also for the Saints, Tiffany Paraventi rolled a 204 in route to a 336 (168.0) two-game series and Tanishia Townsend threw a clean 219 game on her way to a 529 three-game series (176.33).

Northwestern Ohio emerged as the winners in the jamboree, nearly 100 pins over second place Indiana Tech. The victorious Racers were led by top bowler Allison Kemp, who finished with a 913 (228.25).
