The Siena Heights men's and women's basketball teams will host their annual Pink Games on Saturday, Feb. 3, when the Saints host Cleary at the SHU Fieldhouse. It will be the 20th year that SHU brings awareness to the fight against breast cancer.

 

The SHU women will take on Cleary at 3 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 5.

 

Festivities of "Pink Day" include a silent auction, bake sale, 50-50 raffle, t-shirts for sale and halftime speakers. RIMA Manufacturing Company is a proud annual sponsor of the event.

 

All proceeds will be donated to the ProMedica Hickman Cancer Center in Adrian. Last year, the Saints donated more than $4,900 to the Hickman Center. Over the last 11 years, the Saints have donated over $48,000 to the Hickman Cancer Center.

 

"The Pink Game is special for our team and University to be able to give back to the community and those being treated at the Hickman Center," SHU women's basketball coach Sue Syljebeck said.

 

The annual Pink Game event came to the SHU Fieldhouse for the first time in 2004 with monies going to the American Cancer Society. Donations were shifted to the Hickman Center, beginning in 2012-13.

 

"The best part bout Pink Day is being able to raise money for the community with the community," said Saints men's basketball coach Joe Pechota.
