Banks Reaches 1,000 Rebounds in Women's Hoops Loss at CUAA

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Peyton Banks reached the 1,000-mark for career rebounds and also came within three points of the 2,100-point plateau as the Siena Heights women's basketball team lost their regular-season finale to WHAC opponent Concordia, 68-62, on Saturday.

Banks now has 2,098 career points and 1,002 boards after an eight-point, six-rebound performance against the Cardinals.

Sha'kyia Parker was SHU's leading scorer with 20 points at CUAA. E'Anna Won added 11 points and six rebounds while Kayla Hinton also put in 11 points.

Olivia DeLong was a force inside with 11 rebounds and three blocks.

The Saints pushed their lead into double-digits in the first half, but were unable to hold off Concordia in the fourth quarter.

Siena Heights led most of the way until a pair of free throws by CUAA's Samantha Dorn gave the hosts a 51-50 edge with 5:02 to go. Won came back with two freebies on SHU's next possession, putting the Saints up 52-51. That turned out to be their final lead.

Taylor Leatherman responded with a 3-pointer for the Cardinals and Parker then made two free throws to pull SHU into a 54-54 tie. That's when Dorn led Concordia on a quick 5-0 run as the Cardinals went ahead for good.

Siena Heights pulled within three points on three occasions after that, but could not chip away any closer.

Dorn led Concordia (17-11, 13-7) with 21 points and seven rebounds. Emily McCalla added 16 points and five rebounds while Leather totaled a double-double worth 12 points and 13 rebounds.

The Saints (23-5, 16-4) will return to action on Wednesday when they host a WHAC Tournament quarterfinal.
