#RV Women's Basketball Rolls Past Cornerstone

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Sha'kyia Parker scored 19 points, leading five Siena Heights scorers in double-figures, as the Saints' women's basketball team secured a 79-47 win over WHAC opponent Cornerstone on Wednesday night at the SHU Fieldhouse.

Peyton Banks (14 points), Allye Minor (14), Kayla Hinton (13) and Olivia DeLong (11) also scored in doubles for the Saints (21-4, 14-3), who clinched a first-round home game in the WHAC Tournament quarterfinals.

DeLong finished with a double-double as she also grabbed 13 rebounds. Banks added nine rebounds and Hinton dished six assists. E'Anna Won dished five assists.

SHU held a slim 18-17 lead after one quarter before breaking the game open with a 17-4 stretch in the second. The Saints continued that momentum in the third, outscoring the Golden Eagles 17-7 in that period.

In the second quarter, Parker led the way with a pair of 3-pointers.

Stephanie Ainsworth was Cornerstone's leading performer with 16 points and seven rebounds.

Siena Heights, which received votes on the latest NAIA Top 25 poll, will host Michigan-Dearborn in its next game on Friday. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
