This Week for SHU Women's Basketball

UPCOMING FOR SHU: Siena Heights heads back to the road for two games at Madonna and Michigan-Dearborn this week.
 
HEAD COACH:  Sue Syljebeck is in her 19th season as the head coach of the Saints women's basketball program. She is the program's winningest coach with a career record of 352-225. Syljebeck currently ranks 22nd on the NAIA Women's basketball active coach wins list. She will be assisted this year by Deb Ray, Sara Chrenko, Niesha Lowe, Mo Rammuny, Dan Brooks and Tee Watters.
 
MADONNA:  Siena Heights will look to continue their dominance over Madonna.  They currently hold a 12 game winning streak with their last loss to Madonna coming in the 2015-16 season.  Earlier this year, the Saints cruised to a 79-27 win over the Crusaders.
 
MICHIGAN-DEARBORN:  Siena Heights and Michigan-Dearborn have competed 85 times in the rivalry's history, the Saints hold a 58-27 edge.  The first matchup dates back to the Saints inagural season.  In early January, the Saints won 96-63 at home.
 
LAST TIME OUT:   Peyton Banks poured in 39 points as the Siena Heights women's basketball team ran past Northwestern Ohio for a 78-65 victory on Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse.  Banks also had 11 rebounds to finish with a double-double as SHU dominated the fourth quarter to earn the win.  E'Anna Won added 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Saints (17-4, 10-3).
 
RECORD WATCH:  Peyton Banks broke the SHU career scoring record on November 30th, surpassing Laura Panozzo's previous mark of 1,812.  She now needs 1 point to reach 2,000 career points, a point that no SHU women's basketball player and only one SHU men's basketball player has reached. Her 953 career rebounds are 146 away from the lead in that category, she surpassed the 900 rebound mark December 30th, and has now moved into 2nd place in the SHU record books.  Her 650 field goals are 4 field goals behind the 2nd place mark in SHU history.   Banks moved into 5th place in 3-pt FG last week and is two behind the 4th place total. 
 
Sha'kyia Parker surpassed the 1,000 point plateau on January 4th.  She has now moved into 10th place in the SHU record book with 1,093 points.  She sits 151 points back of the 9th place total in SHU history.  She was the 13th women's basketball player at Siena Heights to reach 1,000 points..  She has now moved into 3rd place in SHU history for career 3-point field goals, currently sitting at 177.  Her 477 3-pt field goal attempts place her in 5th place, 31 attempts behind the 4th place mark.
 
Allye Minor has 245 career assists, placing her just outside of a top ten mark in SHU history, only 7 assists back of the 10th place total.
