Women's Hoops Comes Back From 14 Down In Win Over Lourdes

SYLVANIA, Ohio -- Sha'kyia Parker scored 15 points and Peyton Banks had 14 as the Siena Heights women's basketball team overcame a 14-point deficit to down Lourdes, 70-67, in WHAC competition on Wednesday night.

Kayla Hinton and Eva Alcock added 10 points apiece for the Saints (16-4, 9-3), who trailed 41-27 in the third quarter before storming back.

Facing a 47-34 deficit, SHU scored 16 straight points to take a 50-49 lead. Banks had five points during that stretch, including a go-ahead three with 9:20 left in the fourth. Parker (4), Alcock (4) and E'Anna Won (3) also contributed points during that run.

Siena Heights held the lead until Lourdes' Shae Pedroza drew the hosts even at 63-63 with 1:24 to go.

On the Saints' next possession, Banks scored a layup and free throw. Siena Heights went 4 of 6 from the line after that to hold off the Gray Wolves (6-14, 3-9).

Emma Pedroza was Lourdes' leading scorer with 21 points. Shae Pedroza added 18.

The Saints will return to action on Saturday with a 5 p.m. game against WHAC opponent Northwestern Ohio.
