This Week for SHU Women's Basketball

UPCOMING FOR SHU: Siena Heights heads back to the road for a game at Lourdes followed up by a home game with Northwestern Ohio this week.
 
HEAD COACH: Sue Syljebeck is in her 19th season as the head coach of the Saints women's basketball program. She is the program's winningest coach with a career record of 350-225. Syljebeck currently ranks 22nd on the NAIA Women's basketball active coach wins list. She will be assisted this year by Deb Ray, Sara Chrenko, Niesha Lowe, Mo Rammuny, Dan Brooks and Tee Watters.
 
LOURDES: Siena Heights is looking to continue their dominance over their nearest WHAC foe.  In the series history, the Saints have never lost to Lourdes, defeating them 23 straight times since the start of Lourdes Women's Basketball history.  This season, the teams squared off back in November with the Saints coming away with a 81-75 victory.  The six point margin of victory was the fourth closest in SHU-LU history with the closest win being a four point victory in the 2015-16 season, and two five point victories in the 2017-2018 season for the Saints. 
 
NORTHWESTERN OHIO: The Saints will look to avenge a double overtime loss to the Racers which happened in November this season, what was the Saints' first loss of the season.  The Saints have held a distinct advantage over the Racers in the series history, going 19-7 all time.
 
LAST TIME OUT: Sha'kyia Parker scored 26 points as the Siena Heights women's basketball went on a decisive third-quarter run to down Aquinas, 68-44, in WHAC action on Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse.  Peyton Banks added 12 points and eight rebounds while Jillian Gelso contributed 12 points. E'Anna Won finished with 11 rebounds, five assists and two blocks.  
 
RECORD WATCH: Peyton Banks broke the SHU career scoring record on November 30th, surpassing Laura Panozzo's previous mark of 1,812.  She now sits 64 points from hitting 2,000 career points, a point that no SHU women's basketball player and only one SHU men's basketball player has reached. Her 937 career rebounds are 163 away from the lead in that category, she surpassed the 900 rebound mark December 30th, and sits 2 rebounds behind the second place total.  Her 632 field goals are 22 field goals behind the 2nd place mark in SHU history.  
 
Sha'kyia Parker surpassed the 1,000 point plateau on January 4th.  She has now moved into 11th place in the SHU record book with 1,071 points.  She sits 2 points back of the 10th place total in SHU history.  She was the 13th women's basketball player at Siena Heights to reach 1,000 points..  She has now moved into 3rd place in SHU history for career 3-point field goals, currently sitting at 176.  Her 471 3-point field goal attempts place her in 5th place, 37 attempts behind the 4th place mark.
