Siena Heights women's basketball player Kayla Hinton was named Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Player of the Week for Jan. 2-8. This marks the second consecutive week a Saint has been honored; Peyton Banks was the last WHAC Player of the Week.

Hinton, a junior guard, averaged 23 points and six rebounds in WHAC wins over Michigan-Dearborn and Lawrence Tech. She shot .571 from the field.

Hinton scored a career-high 27 points in the 96-63 victory against UMD. She also had six rebounds, four steals and two assists. Hinton was 8 of 11 from the field and 10 of 11 from the free-throw line.

Against LTU, Hinton finished with 19 points, six rebounds and one steal. The Saints won that contest, 72-55.
