ADRIAN, Mich. -- Sha'kyia Parker had 19 points to reach 1,000 career points and Kayla Hinton poured in a career-high 27 points as the Siena Heights women's basketball team took a 96-63 win over Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday at the SHU Fieldhouse.

Peyton Banks added 22 points and six rebounds while being the program's all-time leader in free throws attempted. Olivia DeLong compiled 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals.

Siena Heights (13-3, 6-2) never trailed after building a 22-11 lead in the first quarter. Banks (8), Parker (7) and Hinton (6) were the main contributors in that period.

Parker reached the 1,000-mark late in the fourth quarter. She needed 18 to reach the plateau and now has 1,001 points as a Saint. She deposited a pair of free throws for her final two points, giving SHU an 88-60 lead at the time.

Hinton's previous-high was a 24-point effort in SHU's season-opening 73-65 win against Taylor on Nov. 4.

Abby Fullerton was UMD's leading scorer with 19 points. Siena Smith had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Wolverines (4-13, 1-8).

The Saints will return to action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. game at WHAC opponent Lawrence Tech.
