Saints Win Fourth-Straight After Blowout at Aquinas

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – The Siena Heights women's basketball team rolled to an 83-45 blowout win over Aquinas on the road Saturday afternoon. Five Saint players tallied double-digit points in the win.

Kayla Hinton led the way in scoring with 15 points on 6-12 shooting. Hinton also registered four rebounds on the afternoon. Peyton Banks finished with 13 points and six rebounds. Olivia DeLong netted 12 points off the bench and ten rebounds to complete a double-double off the bench for Siena Heights. Sha'kyia Parker and Jillian Gelso each scored 10 points to contribute to the victory.

A 10-1 run got things going as the Saints outscored Aquinas 31-8 in the first quarter of play and never looked back. Hinton shot a perfect three for three from the floor, including a three-pointer to score seven of her 15 points in the opening quarter. Banks also had a productive first quarter with six points and four boards.

Siena Heights tallied 23 points off turnovers while outscoring the Aquinas bench 34-6. SHU dominated down low with a 30-20 edge in points in the paint and won the rebound battle 53-29.

The Saints shot 41.1% from the field, 35% from three, and 78.9% from the free-throw line. The SHU defense held the host Saints to only 28.8% shooting and 8.3% from beyond the arc. Aquinas also struggled from the line going 9-16.
