SYLVANIA, Ohio -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team pulled off a 54-41 win over Lourdes in a low-scoring contest on the road on Monday night. The Saints (15-5, 7-3 WHAC) held the Grey Wolves to 26.7% shooting from the floor to lead throughout the game and earn their seventh win in conference play this season.

Peyton Banks was up to her old habit as the team's leading scorer with 19 points by shooting an efficient 6-9 from the floor. She earned her ninth double-double of the season by adding 15 rebounds to her stat line. Sha'kyia Parker tallied 15 points, three rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block in the winning effort. Natalie Tucker scored seven points and pulled down seven rebounds from the Saints' bench.

Allye Minor made two jump shots to get the scoring going for the Saints and help capture a 4-0 lead in the opening 2:15 of the game. Banks scored the following seven points for SHU as the lead grew to 11-5. A 5-0 run sparked by a made jumper from Tucker gave Siena a double-digit lead, 16-7, with 2:07 remaining in the opening quarter. Two free throws from the Grey Wolves cut the deficit to seven points, but Tucker hit a layup to push it back to nine with just under 1:45 left on the clock. Parker made the final bucket of the first to give SHU the 20-10 lead heading into the second.

Banks made a three-point jumper in the opening three minutes that doubled up Lourdes, 26-13, and the following three made baskets came from behind the arc as the Saints held onto a 14-point lead as the teams entered the locker room at the half.

Parker hit another three at the start of the third quarter to extend the SHU lead to 39-22. The Saints continued to maintain that advantage with baskets in response to a score from the opponent through to the end of the period when they held a 45-29 edge heading into the fourth.

A jump shot by Banks at the 8:33 mark of the final quarter gave the Saints their largest lead of the game at 47-29. The Grey Wolves rallied with a 6-0 run late in the final frame to cut the deficit to 11 points, 50-39, but the hole proved too deep.
