LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team pushed ahead to a 66-51 win over Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon. The Saints (10-2, 4-2 WHAC) allowed only 19 points in the first half as they never surrendered the lead throughout regulation.

Peyton Banks was Siena's leading scorer with 28 points and 17 rebounds. Those totals bring her to eight double-doubles on the season. Sha'kyia Parker and Allye Minor each scored 12 points in the victory. Minor was one assist away from a double-double while also hauling in six rebounds.  Madison Hamilton also earned six rebounds. She also recorded the team's only block in the afternoon.

The Saints scored the game's first six points before UM-Dearborn got on the board. However, Siena would score six of the final eight points of the half to hold the 12-5 lead going into the second quarter.

SHU's 7-0 run began the second frame as the lead was extended to 19-5 with 7:28 remaining in the quarter. Siena maintained a double-digit lead throughout the majority of the period. However, the lead was cut to nine points following two made free throws by the Wolverines in the closing seconds that brought the score to 28-19 as the teams entered the locker room at the break.

Michigan-Dearborn outscored the Saints 6-2 in the first three minutes of the third to cut the margin to four points, 29-25. Mariah Taylor pulled the Wolverines closer with a three-point jumper that put things at 31-28 in favor of the visitors. The teams traded buckets as the score remained within two scores difference until an 8-0 run UM-Dearborn ended the third stanza with a 44-42 lead for the home team headed into the fourth quarter.

Minor made a layup that ignited an 8-0 run for the Saints as they climbed back on top with a 50-44 lead. A three from the Wolverines cut the lead in half before E'Anna Won made a layup that sparked a 14-0 run for SHU that lasted 5:07 and put the game away for the Saints.
