Siena scored the first five points of the game on the way to a dominant 21-5 lead in the opening quarter that Grace cut down to a 23-12 advantage heading into the second.

The Lancers battled back to cut the Saint lead to single digits with a three-point jumper in the final two minutes of the first half. Grace got to within six points of catching SHU, 35-29. A layup by Banks gave the navy and yellow an eight-point edge as the teams entered the locker room at the half.

The teams traded buckets in the third until an 8-0 run by the Lancers gave them their first lead in the game, 42-41, with 3:26 left in the third stanza. A few lead changes and ties later, and the teams had a whole new ball game going into the fourth with a 47-47 draw.

A series of three-point jumpers and free throws for Siena gave the Saints the lead again as they outlasted the Lancers for the win.
