FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team suffered a 65-33 loss at Indiana Tech in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament semifinals on Saturday. Peyton Banks (Wadsworth, Ohio) led the Saints with a double-double, 11 points, and 10 rebounds, in the losing effort.

THE BASICS

Final Score: Indiana Tech 65, Siena Heights 33

Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana (Schaefer Center)

HOW IT HAPPENED

The offensive struggles for the Saints against Indiana Tech continued from the matchup earlier in the week as the Saints missed their first nine shot attempts as the Warriors built an 11-0 lead in the first seven minutes of play. Siena didn't take a shot until the 3:09 mark of the first quarter as the score sat at 13-4 when the clock reached zero.

Siena Heights shot better in the second quarter (38.5%) but the Warriors also tallied a game-high 26 points in the period to hold a commanding 39-15 lead at the half.

The third quarter was much the same as the Saints struggled to put the ball in the net. The Saints outscored Indiana Tech in the fourth quarter, 12-9, but the deficit was too much to overcome for SHU.
