ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team rolled to a 59-38 win over Aquinas in the First Round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament on Thursday night. Kelsey Wyman (Blissfield, Mich.) led the Saints with 21 points on the evening.

THE BASICS

Final Score: Siena Heights 59, Aquinas 38

Location: Adrian, Michigan (SHU Fieldhouse)

Records: Siena Heights (13-5), Aquinas (6-8)

HOW IT HAPPENED

Wyman had a huge first quarter hitting three shots from distance and a jumper to score 11 of the Saints 15 first-quarter points. The jumper was hit in the final seconds of the first and it gave Siena a 15-5 lead. Aquinas hit the first shot of the game to take a 2-0 lead. It was the only edge they would have all game.

Similar to the previous period, the first shot Wyman took was a three and she sunk it to extend the lead to 18-5. Peyton Banks (Wadsworth, Ohio) added six more points as the Saints build a 31-13 lead as the teams entered the locker rooms at the half.

Siena continued to pour it on in the third as they outscored Aquinas 17-8 to hold a 48-21 lead as the final quarter began.

The fourth was the only period in which Aquinas outscored the Saints, 17-11, but it wasn't enough to catch them before regulation play was over.
