HOW IT HAPPENED

The Warriors jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in the opening five minutes of the game. The Saints struggled early, missing their first eight shots before Savanah Gibson (Birch Run, Mich.) put Siena on the board with a three-point jumper at the 4:05 mark of the first quarter. A 7-0 run for the Warriors pushed their lead to 12-3 with just over a minute and a half left. Wyman hit a layup in the final 34 seconds of the first to cut the Tech lead to 12-5.

Wyman made another layup in the first minute of the second to bring the Saints within five points of tying things up. A 5-0 run by Siena followed a made jumper by the visitors that cut the SHU deficit to just two points, 14-12, with 8:06 in the half. The Warriors pushed the lead back to seven points, 19-12, with a 5-0 run. Indiana Tech made the final two shots of the half to build the game's first double-digit margin, 26-16 as the game moved into half time.

A 7-0 run by Indiana Tech pushed the lead to 15, 33-18, in the opening four minutes of the second half. The Saints struggled to breakthrough the Indiana Tech defense and the Warriors continued to build the lead to 19, 45-26, by the time the third quarter came to an end.

The Saints cut the Indiana Tech lead to 13 points but could get no closer. The Saints struggled shooting in the game. They shot 27.1% from the floor, 26.7% from three, and 58.3% from the free throw line. Those shooting totals were very uncharacteristic for Siena Heights.
