Women's Basketball Facing Three WHAC Opponents This Week

Upcoming for Saints Women's Basketball: The Saints have three more Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchups this week. The first one is on the road against the University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday evening. Siena then returns home for a game against Concordia (Mich.) on Saturday before a road contest versus Madonna on Sunday.
 
Head Coach: Sue Syljebeck earned her 300th win in November with the 119-86 win over Bethel. The win keeps her firmly at the top for all-time wins for the program's history. League Games on the Road: The Saints are 4-1 on the road this season. All of those games have been WHAC contests. Siena is winning by an average of 18.75 points in those four victories. 
 
At Home in the WHAC: Siena Heights is 5-3 at home this season and 3-2 in WHAC home games. The Saints fell to Rochester 77-72 in the most recent WHAC home contest.
 
3rd Quarter Dominance: The Saints are outscoring opponents 22.3-14.9 on average in the third quarter. That scoring margin is the largest for the Saints by quarter. 
 
Close Losses: The Saints have lost by a combined 26 points in their four losses. None of the defeats have had a double-digit margin at the conclusion. The average margin of victory for Siena Heights is 15.5 points. In Siena's four losses, the Saints scored 65.5 PPG while allowing 72.0 PPG compared to 83.2 PPG scored and 57.9 PPG allowed in the team's nine wins.
 
Last Week Recap: SHU 65, Aquinas 55 - The Saints (7-3 overall, 4-2 WHAC) had junior Peyton Banks pass the 1000-point career scoring mark in a 65-55 win over Aquinas Wednesday in conference action. Banks finished with 20 points to become the 12th Saint to earn the milestone. Kelsey Wyman added 14 points for SHU.
 
Rochester 77, SHU 72 - The Saints rallied late but fell short to Rochester 77-72 Saturday in conference action. Peyton Banks had 26 points with Kelsey Wyman adding 20 points and five assists for SHU.
 
SHU 65, Lourdes 48 - The Saints (9-4 overall, 6-3 WHAC) surged to defeat Lourdes 65-48 Sunday in conference action. Sha'kyia Parker had 17 points, with Peyton Banks adding 14 points, seven rebounds, and four assists for SHU.
 
Series History: UNOH: The Saints are 16-6 against UNOH. The Racers and Saints split last season's series. This year, Siena Heights won the first meeting in the SHU Fieldhouse on February 5.
 
Concordia (Mich.): Siena Heights is 14-3 against the Cardinals since 2013. The Saints are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings and haven't lost to CUAA since the 2017-18 season (Jan. 17, 2018).
 
Madonna: SHU trails the Crusaders 39-27 in the overall series. However, the Saints have won the last eight meetings between the two teams. Madonna holds a 33-16 record against SHU at home and is 27-19 since the teams have met in WHAC play.
 
Scouting Reports: UNOH: Jada Haines leads the Racers with 20.2 PPG. She is shooting .497 from the floor, .409 from three, and .844 from the free-throw line. Tya Bell is averaging 11.8 points per game and Erin Scott is scoring 11. 3 PPG. The team's leading rebounder is Kalea Kruser with a 5.6 RPG.
 
Concordia (Mich.): Katie Snow is the only member of the Cardinals scoring double-digit points on average with 13.7. She also leads in assists with 29 total (2.1 APG). J'may Simmons leads the team in rebounds with 6.5 per game. She is also second on the team in scoring with 9.8 PPG.
 
Madonna: The Crusaders have two players averaging 10+ points per game. The leader is Megan Aho with 12.2 while Bree McCormick averages 10.0 PPG. Aho is hauling in 6.5 RPG, the second-most on the team. Emily Pendred is the leader in that category with 7.5.
 
Siena Heights: Peyton Banks leads SHU with 19.3 PPG while Kelsey Wyman (15.5) and Allye Minor (10.9) are the other two Saints in double-digits for scoring. Shelby Morrow is the team's leader on the boards with a 6.0 RPG. Banks is second with a 5.8 mark. Siena Heights leads the NAIA in 3PT percentage with a .416 team percentage. They are also fourth in the country in free throw percentage with .791. Banks is the best free-throw shooter in the country with a .969 benchmark.
