Upcoming for Saints Women's Basketball: The Saints continue Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play with a road game on Wednesday (Feb. 10) against Aquinas and a makeup game against Concordia (Mich.) in Ann Arbor on Thursday (Feb. 11). Siena Heights will return home to host Rochester on Saturday (Feb. 13). The week completes with a short road trip to Lourdes.
Head Coach: Sue Syljebeck earned her 300th win in November with the 119-86 win over Bethel. The win keeps her firmly at the top for all-time wins for the program's history.
At Home in the WHAC: Siena Heights is 3-1 this season in WHAC games played at the SHU Fieldhouse. The Saints won three straight before suffering a 66-57 setback last Sunday at the hands of Lawrence Tech.
Setting the Pace: The blue and yellow have outscored opponents this season 739-569. The largest gap comes in the third quarter where the Saints have outscored opponents by 66 points. The fourth quarter is the only quarter where opponents have been outscoring Siena, doing so by just four points (156-152).
Close Losses: The Saints have lost by a combined point total of 21 points in their three losses. None of the defeats have had a double-digit margin at the conclusion. The average margin of victory for Siena Heights is 31.8 points.
Shooting the Lights Outs: The Saints have not won when shooting under 40% from the field or from three this season.
Below Average: Siena is averaging 82.1 points per game. The Saints scored an average of only 63.3 points in their three losses.
Last Week Recap: The Saints used a career-high 29 points from Kelsey Wyman to power past Lourdes 90-65 Wednesday in conference action. Peyton Banks added 20 points and eight rebounds for SHU.
The Saints scored a 73-47 victory over Northwestern Ohio Friday in conference action. Peyton Banks had 17 points and 10 rebounds, with Sha'kyia Parker and Kelsey Wyman each adding 15 points for SHU.
The Saints (6-3 overall, 3-2 WHAC) fell to Lawrence Tech Sunday in conference action. Kelsey Wyman and Peyton Banks each had 14 points, with Allye Minor adding 10 for SHU.
Series History: Aquinas: The AQ Saints hold a slight advantage over Siena Heights with a 14-13 series record. The SHU Saints have won the previous two meetings.
Rochester: Siena Heights and Rochester met in January in a non-conference matchup. The Saints earned a 79-41 victory in that contest and hold a 12-1 lead in the series.
Lourdes: SHU and Lourdes finish the season series on Sunday. Siena Heights cruised to a 90-65 win in the matchup last week. Siena Heights has never lost to the Grey Wolves in the other 19 meetings.
