Women's Basketball Begins 2020-21 Season With Home Contest Versus Grace Christian

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team begins the 2020-21 regular season with a home game against Grace Christian on Monday, November 2, 2020. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., EST. The Saints will look to start another 20-win campaign this year as the team finished 27-6 overall and 17-3 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) in 2019-20. SHU completed the year second in the league standings a season ago. Siena Heights was picked to finish in the second spot in the conference standings when the 2020-21 WHAC Preseason poll was released early in October.

The Saints return 2019-20 WHAC Player of the Year Peyton Banks (Jr. | Wadsworth, Ohio) this season. Banks was the team's leading scorer (15.8 PPG), rebounder (8.3 RPG), three-point (45.3%), and free throw (92.8%) shooter. Siena Heights also returns WHAC second-team selection Kelsey Wyman (Jr. | Blissfield, Mich.). Wyman was third on the team in points per game with 11.8. She also averaged 3.3 rebounds per game, the second-most among returning SHU players. In total, the Saints return 10 players who were in the program last year to the varsity roster. Those student-athletes are joined by six newcomers who round out the 16-member varsity roster.

Siena Heights will play six games in the month of November, starting with the game on the 2nd versus Grace Christian. The Saints will meet NCAA Division III Trine on Sunday, November 8 before a WHAC home-opening contest against Lourdes on Nov. 18. The final three games of the month come during Thanksgiving weekend. First, Adrian College at home on the 24th then William Penn (Nov. 28) and Marian (Ind.) (Nov. 29). The latter two games take place during the annual SHU Thanksgiving Classic. Four of the five games in December are on the road. The month begins with a home game versus Concordia (Mich.) on the 2nd followed by Rochester (Dec. 5), Grace Christian (Dec. 12), Goshen (Dec. 14), and Judson (Dec. 19) all on the road.

The New Year starts with a month loaded with conference matchups as SHU faces UNOH (Jan. 2), Aquinas (Jan. 9), Madonna (Jan. 16), and Rochester (Jan. 30) at home. The road games for the month are Cornerstone (Jan. 6), Indiana Tech (Jan. 13), Lawrence Tech (Jan. 20), UNOH (Jan. 23), and Lourdes (Jan. 27).
