Peyton Banks Adds to Career-Week With WHAC

Siena Heights women's basketball freshman Peyton Banks earned the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's basketball player of the week as announced by the league office today.

Banks tied for a game-high 18 points with teammate Kiana Votava in last Monday's 62-47 win at Lourdes. She also hauled in five rebounds, an assist, and a steal in the game.

The Wadsworth, Ohio native followed that up with a career-high 31 points against #3 Indiana Tech on Wednesday. Banks was a force for the Saints against the Warriors as she shot 6-10 from the floor and 17-18 from the free-throw line. Her career game helped propel the Saints to a 10-point win, giving Indiana Tech its first loss in conference play this season along with snapping the Warriors 23-game winning streak.

This is the first WHAC women's basketball player of the week award of Bank's career and the second player of the week award for the Saints as a team.

Banks and the rest of her teammates will be in action tonight as they host Great Lakes Christian in a non-conference matchup beginning at 7:00 p.m.
