Saints Suffer Setback at Michigan-Dearborn

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team suffered a 65-50 loss on the road against Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday night. Alyssa Larson led the Saints offensively with 16 points off the bench in the losing effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Michigan-Dearborn started the game with a 6-0 run in the opening 2:10 of the game. The Saints rallied with a 5-0 run to end the first quarter to cut the deficit to one point (10-9) heading into the second quarter.

Allye Minor gave Siena its first lead of the game after a layup in the first five seconds of the quarter (11-10). The Saints took a 25-21 lead into the locker room at the half after a 5-0 run ended the second for SHU.

The Wolverines went on an 11-0 run to end the third quarter to pull ahead by nine points at the start of the final period. UM-Dearborn continued to maintain a lead throughout the remainder of the game.

TOP SAINTS

• Larson tallied another double-double off the bench for Siena with 16 points and 16 rebounds in the game. Her 16 rebounds are a season-high for 2019.

Addyson Tomczak and Minor totaled seven points in the game.

THE OPPOSITION

• Four Wolverines tallied double-digit points. Ro'Zhane Wells led those four with 15 points.

• Cydney Williams led the team with seven rebounds while scoring 11 points.

UP NEXT

The Saints will return home on Saturday to host Aquinas at 3:00 p.m. The game is the annual cancer game for the Siena Heights basketball program.
