Siena Heights Women's Basketball Program Going Cruzin

ADRIAN, MICH. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball program is traveling to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. to compete in the 2018 Cruzin Classic on Sunday and Monday, December 16-17.

The women's JV team will kick things off with a game against Briar Cliff on Sunday, December 16 at 11:30 a.m. Fans can watch the JV game by clicking here and can follow along with the live stats here.

The Saint's varsity team will face Waldorf (Iowa) at 6:00 p.m., that night before meeting Briar Cliff on Monday at 10:00 a.m. The first game against Waldorf can be watched here and the stats can be found here. The Briar Cliff game can be followed with video here and stats here.

Senior Alyssa Larson leads the Saints with 12.2 points per game. She is also the team's second-best rebounder as she averages 6.5 rebounds a contest. Freshman Peyton Banks is the deep threat with a 54.2 three-point percentage. Sharmaine Wills (senior) is the leading rebounder with 6.9 per game.

The Saints are currently 10-2 overall so far this season and are currently receiving votes in the NAIA DII Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll. SHU sits third in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) standings with a 6-2 mark in league play. Siena is outscoring opponents 71.8-67.1 through the first 12 games this year.

Waldorf is led offensively by Taylor Fricke who is averaging 13.7 points per game. She is also the team's main three-point threat with a team-high 51.9% success rate beyond the arc. Michaela Graffunder is the team's leading rebounder with 8.1. The Warriors head into the Cruzin Class with a 4-5 overall record.

Briar Cliff is led by Taylor Wagner with 11.6 points per game. The team's leading three-point shooter is Logan Ehlers who is making 45.8% of her attempts beyond the arc. Taylor Vasa hauls in a team-leading 6.0 rebounds per game. The Chargers had a 7-6 overall record coming into the tournament. They will face Johnson & Wales on Sunday before they meet the Saints on Monday.

The Saints will finish the trip by traveling down to the port of Miami to hop on a four-day Carnival Cruise to Mexico before heading back to Michigan on December 21.
