Women's Basketball Set For Two Contests To Close Out Winter Break

THE GAME
The Siena Heights women's basketball team is set to take on Indiana University-Kokomo on Friday in a non-conference contest. Tip off for the game is set for 7:30 p.m. Following the contest with IU-Kokomo, Siena Heights will head to Aquinas for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday, Jan. 3 with a tip off set for 6 p.m.

The Saints are now 9-7 overall and 4-4 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play. SHU has won it's last four games, and seven of it's last eight. SHU averages 64.4 points per game and shoots 37.8% from the field. From behind the arc, the Saints are knocking in 28.8% of it's attempts and 64.5% from the free throw line. Siena Heights is also averaging 41.7 rebounds per game, 6.6 steals per game and 11.4 assists.

The Cougars are holding an 8-5 overall record and have won their previous two games back to back. IUK averages 70.2 points per game, on shooting 42.6% from the field, 31.2% from three and 74.9% from the charity stripe. Indiana University-Kokomo has averaged 41 rebounds per game, seven steals and 11 assists.

Aquinas is 9-6 overall on the season and 5-2 in the WHAC. The Saints are averaging 67.3 points per game and shooting 40.8% from the floor. From behind the arc the Saints connect on 28.1% and 68.5% from the free throw line. Aquinas averages 39.6 rebounds per game, 7.9 steals and 13.5 assists.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Siena Heights is led in scoring by Demi Russell with 9.9 points per game. She is followed closely by Alyssa Larson with 9.3 and Addyson Tomczak with 9.0. Sharmine Wills leads on the glass with 7.7 rebounds per game, she also leads the team with 1.7 steals per contest. Azalea Miller has contributed a team high 3.6 assists per contest.

Indiana University-Kokomo is led offensively by Deja Felder with 17.8 points per game and Dejianna Butler with 12.1. Butler also leads her team in rebounds with 11.4, averaging a double-double. Felder holds a team high in steals with 2.2 per game while also pacing the Cougars with 4.2 assists per contest.

Aquinas is led by Michaela Faber, averaging 13.4 points per game to go with 7.5 rebounds per game which is also a team high for the Saints. Camaryia Williams leads with 2.7 steals, while Momo Neal dishes out 3.3 assists per game.
