Russell Double-Double Helps Saints to Victory Over Northwestern Ohio

LIMA, Ohio -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team took on Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest. The Saints won the contest 60-57.

In the first quarter, both teams scored just seven points. In the second period, the offense got rolling and the Saints (5-6, 3-3 WHAC) poured in 20 while the Racers knocked in 23 points giving UNOH a three point advantage going into halftime. At the end of the third, Siena Heights was able to tie the score and was able to win the fourth quarter and the contest. 

Demi Russell led the Saints with a team high 18 points and 12 rebounds off the bench for her first double-double of the season. Clara Waidley and Alyssa Larson also added double figure scoring with 12 and 10 points respectively. Larson finished with two blocks while Azalea Miller dished out three assists.

The Saints shot 24-69 (34.8%) from the floor, 4-22 (18-2%) from three and 8-14 (57.1%) from the free throw line. The Racers went 22-57 (38.6%) from the field, 6-19 (31.6%) from behind the arc and 7-11 (63.6%).

Next up, the Siena Heights women's basketball team will travel to take on No. 24 Lawrence Tech on Saturday. Tip off is set for 1 p.m.
