Women's Basketball Drops Contest to Indiana Tech in WHAC Match-Up

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights (1-4, 0-3 WHAC) women's basketball team hosted Indiana Tech in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match-up. The Saints dropped the contest 83-81.

After one, the score was tied at 21-21. The Saints were looking to take advantage and did in the second. Azalea Miller knocked down a three pointer to start the second quarter, but Indiana Tech regained the lead with 7:58 left in the half at 27-26. On a lay-up by Ashley Perry with 5:09 left in the second, the Saints regained the lead and went into halftime up, 41-37

The Warriors (5-1, 2-0 WHAC) came out in the third period and quickly tied the score at 43-43. Siena Heights responded and jumped out to their largest lead of 12 points, 65-53 with 2:34 left in the third. ITU was not finished. They rattled off a 12-0 run to tie the score at 73-73 with 3:46 left in the game. Indiana Tech took a one point advantage with 1:06 left in the game. The Saints were unable to regain the lead and dropped the contest.

Azalea Miller led the Saints with 23 points. She was followed by Jaaliyah Arrington with 20 points and eight rebounds. April Watson added 16 points and eight rebounds. 

The Warriors were led by Keanna Gary with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Haley Cook added 20 points. 

The Saints will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 22, when they host cross town rival, Adrian, in a non-conference match-up. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
