Women's Basketball Drops Contest to Saint Francis in Non-Conference Action

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights (1-2, 0-1 WHAC) women's basketball team took on Saint Francis (Ind.) (2-5, 0-0 Crossroads) in a non-conference battle on Wednesday. The Saints dropped the contest 57-77.

SHU got off to a slow start and finding themselves in a 25-8 deficit. At the half, Siena Heights was trailing 42-23. With 5:04 left in the third quarter, the Saints were able to bring the score as close as eight points on a lay-up by April Watson. Unfortunately, SHU ran out of gas and was not able to complete the comeback.

Clara Waidley led the Saints offense with 20 points, including six three pointers and shooting 55% from three. April Watson added 15 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.

The Cougars were led by Lauren McBryar with 23 points and five rebounds. Kara Gerka recorded 14 points and four rebounds for USF.

The Saints will be back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 16, when they host Concordia (3-0, 0-0 WHAC) in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
