April Watson Honored as NAIA All-American Honorable Mention

Junior forward April Watson, member of the Siena Heights women's basketball team, was honored as a NAIA All-American Honorable Mention, as announced by the NAIA on Thursday.

Watson transferred to Siena Heights, making the 2015-16 season her first with the Saints. She was previously named to the All-WHAC First Team, the All-WHAC Defensive Team and the WHAC Newcomer of the Year.

After starting all 30 games she made an appearance in, Watson finished the regular season with 415 points, 278 rebounds and 61 blocks. She averaged 13.8 points per game, 9.3 rebounds per game and 2.0 rebounds per game.

Watson leads the Saints in points per game, blocks, field goal percentage and rebounds.

For the 2015-16 season, Watson ranks in the top five in three offensive categories for individual season records at SHU. She is ranked fourth in total points (415), third in scoring average (13.8) and third in field goals made (172). Defensively, Watson ranks first in total rebounds (278), offensive rebounds (113), defensive rebounds (165), rebounding average (9.3 per game), total blocked shots (61) and blocked shots average (2.0 per game).

Watson is the fifth Siena Heights women's basketball player to receive NAIA All-American Honorable Mention honors.
