Women's Hoops Falls to Madonna

LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team fell 83-72 against conference opponent Madonna, on Wednesday.

Through three quarters the game was close, Madonna leading 58-54 going into the fourth quarter. Sharmaine Wills made a lay-up that tied the game, 63-63, with 7:38 left on the clock. The Crusaders fought back, scoring eight unanswered points and kept the lead for the remainder of the night. 

Jaaliyah Arrington was the leading scorer for the Saints (18-11, 12-9). She finished with 23 points, three assists and three steals. April Watson finished with 21 points and eight rebounds. Bringing in a double-double for SHU was Lauren Wirth. She netted 14 points and grabbed 11 boards. 

For the Crusaders (16-9, 16-5), Cris Harper scored 22 points while Kacy Robinson put-up 19 points.

Overall, the Saints shot 28-77 (36.4 percent) from the field and the Crusaders shot 26-55 (47.3 percent). In free throws, SHU shot 9-19 (47.4 percent) while MU 24-29 (82.8 percent).

Next up, Siena Heights will travel to Lourdes (Ohio) for their final regular season game. The game will be played at Owens (Perrysburg, Ohio), tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
