Strong Second Half Propels Women's Basketball to Victory

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team finished strong, posting a 56-51 victory against Northwestern Ohio, on Saturday.

Siena Heights took a quick lead, leading Northwestern Ohio 4-0. UNOH bounced back to take the lead in the first quarter 11-6 and eventually into halftime with a score of 21-16.

The Saints (18-10, 12-8) came back stroong and surged to a seven point lead, starting with a three pointer by Jaaliyah Arrington. In the fourth it was all Saints. They took an eight point lead, their biggest lead of the night, with 3:38 remaining on the clock.

April Watson lead the scoring with 18 points, 13 boards and four blocks. Arrington scored 16 points and earned two steals. Azalea Miller finished with nine points and four assists for the Saints.

Stacia Allen lead the Racers (13-15, 10-10) in scoring with 14 points and six rebounds. Eboni Adams added 12 points while Posha Buchanan had nine points and four boards.

Overall, the Saints shot 20-53 (37.7 percent) while the Racers shot 19-56 (33.9 percent) from the field.

SHU will be back in action on Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off at Madonna.
