ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights softball team split a WHAC doubleheader against Lawrence Tech on Saturday at Christensen Memorial Softball Field. The Saints won game one, 3-2, and then dropped the nightcap, 14-0.

SHU will return to play Sunday with a 1 p.m. WHAC twinbill at home against Concordia.

Game one: Siena Heights 3, Lawrence Tech 2
Shyann Truax smacked a two-out, game-ending RBI single to lift the Saints in the seventh.

Truax was also the winning pitcher, giving up two runs on five hits while going the distance. She struck out seven batters.

The Saints led 1-0 and 2-1 before LTU tied the contest each time.

After LTU tied the game at 2-2 in the top half of the seventh, Ellie Thelen and Hazlett drew one out walks in the bottom half.

Thelen moved to third on a fielder's choice and scored the winner when Truax sent a soft liner into left field.
