Christensen Memorial Field, the softball field at Siena Heights University has been named the 2023 Netting Professionals/NFCA Field of the Year in the NAIA.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and one of their official sponsors, Netting Professionals recognizes the top fields/stadiums for seven different levels of softball.

Within the NAIA, Siena Heights' Christensen Memorial Field was selected by a panel of coaching peers on the NFCA Awards Committee to receive this award.

Christensen Field has seen numerous upgrades in the last 18 years.  Prior to the 2007 season, new below grade and more private dugouts were installed.  Before the 2015 season another faze of upgrades happened when the chain link back-stop and chain link outfield wall were replaced with a padded concrete and netting backstop and a wooden outfield wall.  Two new turf batting cages were also added prior to the 2015 season.  A new scoreboard was installed prior to the 2016 season as well.

Prior to the 2023 season, further major renovations took place to create a stadium atmosphere.  Chairback seating, along with larger permanent bleacher seating was installed.  LED lights were installed along with a building which houses a pressbox, coaches office, concession area, and bathroom facilities.  The infield surface also received a new layer of surface material prior to the 2023 season as well.  Heaters for the dugouts were also installed through fundraising efforts by the softball team.

The field and stadium has continued to be maintained and groomed by coaches of the Siena Heights Softball Program.
