Softball Loses Pair to Michigan-Dearborn

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights softball team lost a pair of contests to Michigan-Dearborn, 12-2 and 7-3, on Tuesday at Christensen Memorial Softball Field.

The Saints will play next on Saturday when they host Cleary for a 1 p.m. WHAC doubleheader.

 

Game one: UMD 12, SHU 2 (6 inn.)

Courtnee Chappetta and Eva Curtis has the only two hits for the Saints, who trailed only 3-2 before the visiting Wolverines scored five runs in the fifth and four in the sixth.

Both hits drove in runs. Curtis' hit was an RBI single in the first and Chappetta's was an RBI single in the third.

 

Game two: UMD 7, SHU 3

Faith Breinager batted 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Siena Heights offense. She also scored a run.

The Saints plated two runs on sacrifice flies. Kat Moreau had a sac fly in the fifth and Emma Marshall added one in the sixth. Breinager added an RBI single in the sixth.
