Softball Drops Single Contest to Calumet

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. -- The Siena Heights softball team suffered a 7-1 loss to non-conference Calumet on Sunday at neutral-site Oakland City.

Kat Moreau homered to account for the Saints' only run. She ripped the dinger with SHU trailing 6-0 in the sixth inning.

Courtnee Chappetta added a triple and Shyann Truax had a double for the Siena Heights offense.

Truax started in the pitcher's circle, allowing six runs on eight hits while recording two strikeouts and two walks. Riley Hoover worked the final 2 1/3, giving up one run on five hits.

Kylee Slack and Adelina Staden hit home runs for Calumet.

The Saints will return to action on Saturday, March 4, when they open their spring break trip play at the Tucson Invitational.
