GREENWOOD, Ind. – Siena Heights senior Sam Hill was named CoSIDA Academic All-District Softball in NAIA District 1. This is the second consecutive season that Hill has made the CoSIDA Academic All-District squad.

"Sam has been a very talented student-athlete for us during her tenure at Siena Heights," said head coach Laura Klutsarits. "She is a top student who has a very bright future in front of her. She has often been overlooked when it comes to awards, and we are very excited for her to receive this honor."

Hill finished her fourth year as the lead-off hitter for SHU. She led the team with 55 hits while earning a .387 average, two doubles, 23 stolen bases, and the first home runs of her career with three total. Hill is sixth in the WHAC in stolen bases and eighth in hits.

The Willis, Michigan native completed her final season fourth in single-season stolen bases, fourth in career stolen bases, seventh in career runs scored, and eighth in career batting average.

The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.

The CoSIDA All-Academic All-District NAIA District 1 team consists of the 13 best college softball players in the NAIA from 22 states in the Eastern side of the United States.

Hill is the only student-athlete representing a member school from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) on the all-district team.
