The Bruins took a 2-1 lead in the bottom half of the 3rd-inning off an RBI double. Hill led off the fifth with a single and then stole second to have a runner in scoring position with no outs. Truax then singled to put runners in the corners, setting up Maddie Herrera to bring Hill home on a ground out to short that tied the score at two. Uhl singled to left field to bring Truax across the plate, and the Saints took the lead, 3-2. Pena then tallied her second and third RBIs with a single to left that scored Lauren Dioszegi and Chappetta to extend the advantage to 5-2.

Truax recorded the final RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly to left field that allowed Hill to reach home plate. The Siena Heights defense held the Bruins scoreless for the game's final four innings to seal the win in the opening game of the day.

Chappetta had the hot bat in game two as she was a perfect 4-for-4. Guerra finished with three hits in four plate appearances, while Uhl (2-for-4) and Abby Fisher (2-for-2) had two hits.
