HOW IT HAPPENED

Game 1: Siena Heights def. Midway, 12-11 (9 Innings)

The Saints jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the top of the 2nd-inning. Lily Guerra hit a two-RBI single up the middle to complete the four-run half-inning. A three-RBI double to right-center helped Midway take the lead, 5-4 at the end of the 2nd-inning.

The Eagles pushed their lead to 6-4 as the game moved into the 4th-inning. Hill would score off a Maddie Herrera double down the left-field line. Uhl scored Guerra on a ground out and the Saints retook the lead, 7-6. Three runs by Midway in the bottom half of the inning changes the lead again to 9-7, advantage home team.

Tori Harding stole third base after a single put her on and Guerra brought her home with a single to center to cut the deficit to one run with the tying run on third. That run happened when Herrera was hit by pitch to bring Julia Hogston home for the 9-point tie. Hill gave SHU the lead (11-9) again off a sacrifice fly from Haley Rose. The Eagles scored one run in the bottom half of the fifth to come within one run of tying the Saints.

Midway got that run in the 6th-inning and neither team would score again until the Saints tallied the winning run in the top half of the 9th-inning.

Siena Heights benefited from the international run rule that put Harding on second. She moved on a sacrifice bunt by Hogston and scored the winning run on a wild throw by the third baseman.

Game 2: Siena Heights def. Midway, 12-3 (6-innings)

Game two was all Saints as they scored nine runs in the first four innings before Midway got on the board. SHU would add three more runs in the 6th-innings to put the game away early due to the run rule.

Harding tallied three RBIs in game two to lead the Saints to the win. Sam Spicer and Hogston both registered two RBIs in the game. Rose was 4-4 at the plate and scored three of those times she was on base. Spicer was also perfect at the plate in game two going 3-3 with two RBIs.

As a team, Siena hit .457 and stole three bases in game two. Midway tallied a .333 batting average and stole one base.
