Siena Heights senior Racquel Ward was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) softball player of the week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Ward had a huge opening weekend for the Saints as she batted .571 (8-for-14) with two doubles and a homerun. She also led the Saints with eight RBIs in the first four games of the season. Wards three-run homerun cames in the 5th-inning against #24 Jamestown that increased the Saint lead to 6-1 in a game that ended after the inning with a 9-1 score.

This is Ward's third WHAC weekly award (she earned two WHAC pitcher of the week honors last season), but is her first player of the week honor in her career.

The Saints will face Northwestern (Iowa) and Dakota Wesleyan in Tucson, Arizona on Wednesday, March 6.
