Softball Opens WHAC Play Against Rochester; Adrian Rescheduled

THE GAME
The Siena Heights softball team is set to begin Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play with a double-header against Rochester, on Wednesday, starting at 3:30 p.m. The contests against Adrian originally scheduled for Thursday will now take place Monday, April 2, at 4 p.m.

The Saints are 6-6 overall and are looking forward to their first contest in almost two weeks. As a team, SHU holds a .383 batting average with a .459 on base percentage.

The Warriors sit at 6-14 overall and begin conference play with the Saints. Overall, RC manages a .304 batting average with a .461 on base percentage.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Siena Heights is led by Kelsey Cherry with a .500 batting average and a .561 on base percentage. Amy Nordstrom has sent home 14 runners while holding a .370 batting average. Pitcher Racquel Ward holds a 4-2 record with a 3.6 ERA as she averages 4.0 strikeouts per seven innings.

Jenna Dominek leads Rochester with a .479 batting average, .569 on base percentage and 11 RBIs. In the circle, Brooke Snyder and Alexis Evans each hold a 3-5 record as Snyder manages a 5.82 ERA.

NEXT UP
The Saints have a full week ahead of them with three conference and two non-conference double-headers. First, SHU travels to crosstown rival Adrian on Monday before hosting Lourdes (Ohio) on Wednesday. Thursday and Saturday Siena Heights will travel to Cleary then Cornerstone, respectively, and will round out the week hosting Northwestern Ohio on Sunday.
