Softball Takes Two Wins Against Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights softball team defeated cross-town rivals Adrian today. The final score of game one was 4-3, and game two was 13-3 only going five innings. 

In game one, the Bulldogs scored early in the first pushing two runs across. No one scored until the fifth inning when the Saints took the lead putting up three runs. SHU added a run in the top of seven and the Bulldogs put forth a great effort but only pushed one run across. 

Kelsie Abbott led the offense in game one. She had a double and two RBIs. Kenya Keller also had a double and drove in one run. Kayla Boland had a single RBI for SHU. Lesley Ducat walks away with the win for SHU. She pitched all seven innings, gave up 10 hits, three runs, all being earned, three walks and had four strikeouts. 

In game two, the Saints scored first with Kyndle Wolfinger crossing the plate. The Saints tacked on six more runs in the second. Megan Jones had a three run home run to drive in three of the six runs for SHU. In the bottom of two AC jumped on the board pushing two runs across. In the top of three Hannah Bleikamp started off the inning with a solo shot, giving the Saints another run. SHU added another five runs that inning. The Bulldogs later scored one more run in the fourth. 

M. Jones led the offense in game two with three hits and four RBIs. Wolfinger and Keller each had two hits and two RBIs. Arica Vasquez gets her second win in the circle as she pitched all five innings, gave up seven hits, three runs, all earned, three Ks and one home run. 

The Saints (21-17, 5-3) will return to action on Wednesday as they host Aquinas for a WHAC double-header starting at 3:30.
