Softball Drops Two Games To Indiana Wesleyan

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights Softball team dropped a pair of games to Indiana Wesleyan. Scores were 5-3 and 10-4. 

In game one, SHU fell behind early 1-0. The Saints jumped ahead in the bottom of three when they pushed three runs across the plate. Saints held the 3-1 lead until the top of five, when the Wildcats (10-4) tied it at 3-3. The Wildcats would push two more across in the top of the seventh.

Offensively, the Saints had only four hits to Indiana Wesleyan's 11. Kris Forest led the Saints with a two run homer. Lesley Ducat took the loss on the mound throwing the complete game. She allowed five runs, all which were earned, and three strike outs.

In game two, the Wildcats scored first in the third inning, and six more in the fourth. SHU rallied back and scored three in the bottom of the fourth and one in the fifth. IWU pushed three more across in the final two innings.

Kelsie Abbott had two hits for the Saints and Hannah Bleikamp had two RBIs. Olivia Smith gets the loss on the mound, she went 3.1 innings. She split time with Hannah Gomola and Arica Vasquez. Gomola went .2 innings and Vasquez went 3.0 innings.

SHU (7-11) will return to action on Sunday with a double-header against Calumet Saint Joseph (Ind.). First pitch is set for 11.
