Softball Drops Two Close Games

Tucson, ARIZ: Siena Heights softball team drops both games today, the first one to Jamestown (N.D.) with a score of 15-11 and the second to Presentation (S.D.) by a score of 4-2. 

Saints started off strong with several hits in the first inning. The biggest hit in the first game coming from Hannah Bleikamp with a two run homer. SHU had a 7-0 lead at the end of the first. Jamestown scored two runs in the bottom of the second before pushing across 10 runs, five of which were unearned. 

The Saints had 16 hits in the first game, Megan Jones with three, Kenya Keller, Kris Forest, Skylar Crenshaw and Kelsey Cherry each had two hits. M. Jones and Cherry each had three RBIs of the Saints 11. Kelsie Abbott takes the loss on the mound today earning one strike out. 

In the second game, Saints had jumped ahead early taking a 2-0 lead in the third inning. SHU had a two late errors allowing Presentation to score three unearned runs. 

Hailey Fox and Keller led the Saints, Fox had three hits and Keller finished with two. Lesley Ducat took the loss on the mound for SHU earning one stike out. 

Saints (3-5) return to action on Thursday, Mar. 10. SHU will face William Penn at  9 a.m. and Saint Francis (Ill.) at 11 a.m.
